NEW YORK, NY — June 17, 2024: Harness, a New York-based fintech startup that seeks to make bespoke tax & financial advice accessible to more households, announced today it has added a new member to its leadership team. Steve Cheung, who most recently served as Architect and Director of Engineering at Flatiron Health, joins Harness as its Head of Engineering. Mr. Cheung brings nearly three decades of experience building high-performing teams across multiple industries, including healthcare, adtech, telecom, media & entertainment, and more. He will lead the engineering functions for both Harness Wealth consumer products and services, as well as the Harness for Advisors SaaS platform.

Steve joins Harness after nearly 8 years at Flatiron Health, a leading health-tech startup dedicated to improving cancer care, where he led initiatives in modernizing Flatiron’s OncoEMR, a leading oncology-focused EHR, increasing workflow efficiency for clinicians, and improving overall reliability and quality of the system.

“Harness is solving complex challenges facing the tax industry, for both advisors and clients, and I was excited to accept the opportunity to lead the development of their platform. In particular, my personal experiences navigating the tax implications of startup equity compensation drew me to this opportunity to build a better solution” said Cheung.

Prior to Flatiron Health, Steve co-founded two startups and led engineering, design, and product management for a wide array of high-growth companies. He earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo and resides in New York City.
